Release of Qseven 2.0 Specification

The new 2.0 revision of the Qseven specification enables system integrators to implement additional features into their systems e.g. like USB3.0, embedded Dispay Port, I2S interface for low cost audio codecs, One-Wire-Bus, HDMI and Display Port Hot Plug Detection, an additional SDIO-Port . In addition to the improvements made on the electrical interface a small size variant of Qseven modules (uQseven) is spezified, enabling module suppliers to offer modules that use the Qseven pinout in applications where board space is crucial. Probably this is the most interesting improvement: Qseven 2.0 now represents a manufacturer-independant industry standard for credit card sized cpu modules that supports both x86 and ARM architecture – so far this was the domain of proprietary manufacturer-specific implementations or concepts supporting either RISC or x86 technology.
